Whether Rome, London or Paris ...
... an internship abroad is well worthwhile for many reasons. These include improved career prospects, opportunities for an intercultural exchange, the chance to improve your language skills, and personal development. The experience of working abroad is today more important than ever before.
The University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt requires all students pursuing a bachelor’s degree to complete an internship lasting at least 20 weeks. This can also be completed abroad. If you are considering completing your internship abroad, please see the DAAD brochure Wege ins Auslandspraktikum (in German) for an overview of the opportunities and options for completing an internship abroad.
In principle, an internship abroad must be planned thoroughly well in advance. Particularly the question of the financing is very important. There are countless support and funding options. We have outlined the most important ones below:
Funding is available for internships in other European countries within the Erasmus+ programme. Please see the section on the application procedure for more information.
For internships outside of the EU, you are able to apply to the International Office at FHWS for funding from the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture, Science and Art or the DAAD (PROMOS). For both financing options, please complete the following application for an overseas funding grant (in German).
